I was raised in the wilderness of western Pennsylvania, came of age in Southern California, and spent time as an expat in England and Greece: My tales have been carried to me from across the world on the trade winds; they have been burnished by the desert sun, forged in the bitter winters of Lake Erie, weathered and polished like beach glass in the waters of the Pacific and Atlantic and Mediterranean, and nurtured by the warm spring rains of my coastal home.
